From an early age, the biggest dream of Orlando Villella, the owner of Destino, was to create a home away from home amidst wildlife and forest. A place where he could build something that preserves the natural environment away from the city and urban lifestyle he grew up in. A paradise where he can raise his family surrounded by the sounds of nature, monkeys and colorful birds and flowers. A place where his children could learn to enjoy the little things in life, reconnecting with the wonderful green world around us. A space where technology is not a priority and the most important thing is to contemplate the sunset and sunrise together every day.
Thus, Destino was founded on a love story, both for his growing family and for the land he saw in his dreams, a space in which he can live and also feel his contribution to each grain of sand he touches.
In the beginning, he traveled to many countries and vacation hot spots in search of the elusive availability of a private oasis. He found some solace in a small surf and yoga town in Central America but he still wished for more. That’s when life guided him to the beautiful San Bernardo hills. There he discovered a community of humble people, a rural space in which his dreams can come to fruition. Surprisingly, he also found that he wasn’t the only one!
